CAMBRIDGE CROSSING
Since 2010, Beals + Thomas has been providing land surveying,
civil engineering and permitting assistance services for the urban redevelopment of approximately 45 acres of former rail yards in the North Point section of East Cambridge, Somerville and Boston to support a 5 million square-foot mixed-use retail, commercial and residential community. Ideally located on the largest remaining land parcel in Cambridge, Cambridge Crossing is poised to be one of the most exciting and energetic redevelopment projects in
the Boston area.
Our services include master planning and permitting support
and the final design of an extensive roadway and utility network necessary to serve approximately 20 building sites in three urban cities. We have coordinated extensively with city and state officials and design consultants regarding the redevelopment and reconfiguration of Lechmere Square, including relocation of the
MBTA Lechmere Green Line Station, construction of the Green
Line Extension to Medford and Somerville, and relocation of Monsignor O’Brien Highway.
We provided land surveying, civil engineering, permitting assistance and construction administration services for “Twenty|20,” which delivered 355 new residential units and 9,000 square-feet of commercial space in 2015. We also provided surveying, design
and permitting services for 250 Dawes Street, a proposed 350,000 sf lab/office/retail building which is under construction and slated
to open in 2019.
