The Beals and Thomas, Inc. (B+T) team is a group of multidisciplinary individuals whose specialized skills combine to operate as a cohesive unit. Our team is comprised of civil engineers, landscape architects, land surveyors, environmental planners, permitting specialists, and wetland scientists. Our company culture is based on working together to deliver high-quality services, which supports the strength of our brand identity within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. We encourage the sharing of knowledge across specialties, providing the opportunity for each team member to learn and address new challenges. We believe that a well-rounded staff is our competitive advantage.
B+T was founded in 1984 with a vision for fulfilling an emerging need for responsible land planning, design, and permitting services. B+T promptly established a reputation for providing highly responsive, thorough, and accurate services and our client base expanded rapidly. Today, we are proud to still be serving many of our early clients while continuing to expand our client base and service sectors.

Workplace Flexibility
B+T takes employee and societal health very seriously. With the onset of the pandemic, we quickly pivoted from an entirely in person work environment to an entirely remote staff. We’ve learned what is possible and incorporated those lessons to improve our company culture and employee work life balance through a hybrid work schedule. Our scheduling approach ensures that staff continue to receive meaningful mentorship, teamwork, technical growth, and learning opportunities through combined in-office work days, while recognizing that working from home is an important aspect of achieving a balance between work and home life.

Career Learning + Advancement
B+T encourages employees to take ownership for their own professional development and is committed to supporting that growth. In addition to our internal focus on fostering individual staff learning and growth, we also provide significant annual professional development allotments. Employees are encouraged to attend workshops, seminars, or other technical programs, to advance their technical knowledge, and we also provide a separate allotment for educational assistance to provide financial support for college/university coursework.
At B+T there is no limit to what you can achieve. Many of our employees began as entry level staff right out of college and have advanced to Associate, Senior Associate, or Principal positions within the firm. That said, we also recognize that not everyone wants to manage, and we don’t think that should hold you back. For that reason we ensure that staff who prefer to focus on delivering technical project work can also achieve senior positions within the firm.
